Is this an alcohol-free rum?

Technically, we're not allowed to call it an alcohol-free rum. But you are 😉 To be classified as rum, it must contain a minimum ABV of 37.5-40.0%, which ours does not. However, we use the same elements and spices found in traditional rum and employ similar distillation methods in addition to steam and extraction techniques that allow us to create a taste that closely resembles rum, fooling most people when mixed and enjoyed in good company.

HOW TO USE

ISH Caribbean Spiced Spirit is a decadent way to enjoy your favorite drinks like Daiquiris, Cuba Libres and Mojitos. Like you, we couldn’t imagine a world without these classics. ISH Caribbean Spiced Spirit is not intended to be enjoyed neat, but rather to add the extra spark to your alcohol-free cocktails. Or, you can use it in conjunction with other spirits, allowing you to simply reduce the alcohol content of your cocktails.

ALCOHOL-FREE COCKTAIL

Ingredients
5 cl ISH Caribbean Spiced Spirit
10 cl Fever-Tree Ginger Beer
1 dash Angostura bitters

Garnish
Lime wedge

Method
Add all the ingredients in a highball glass, stir and enjoy.

Espresso MartinISH

LOW-ALCOHOL COCKTAIL

Espresso MartinISH: 3% ABV
Conventional Espresso Martini: 18% ABV

Ingredients
6 cl ISH Caribbean Spiced Spirit
3 cl Kahlua
1 cl Hazelnut syrup
Double espresso shot

Garnish
Coffee beans

Method
Add all the ingredients in a shaker, Shake with ice until chilled and strain into a coupette glass.

OUR UNIQUE PROCESS

The full strength spirit undergoes a process called “Supercritical CO2 Extraction”, a technology in which carbon dioxide, extracts the alcohol at 73 bars and 30°C. The extraction is carried out at a low temperature to preserve the natural taste profile. The de-alcoholized base is then enriched with vanilla from the Sava region of Madagascar, Indonesian nutmeg and baked apple that all together create the lush, complex flavor of a classic spiced spirit. Additionally we have developed a unique distillate using the shells from chili seeds to provide the satisfying heat we know from our spirits.

  • Why do some of your products contain traces of alcohol?

    The process of extracting flavors from plants sometimes require a small amount of alcohol to release its full flavor. This is why some ISH products are labeled with minimal traces of alcohol. To compare, orange juice and goma dressing contain 0,3%-0,4% alcohol, as does many other everyday products. Therefore it's perfectly safe to consume alcohol-free products labelled with less than 0,5% alcohol, also if you are pregnant.

  • Is ISH safe to enjoy while pregnant?

    All ISH products are perfectly safe to enjoy while pregnant. You might be surprised to learn that many everyday food products actually contain trace amounts of alcohol. Orange juice, for example,contains 0,3%-0,4% alcohol. The soy sauce we love to put on sushi? That has alcohol too. Ever eaten a very ripe banana? Then the odds are you consumed some alcohol. Even bread, once baked, can have residual traces of alcohol. Yet all of these are considered alcohol-free from a regulatory standpoint as the amount of alcohol is so minimal that it has no impact whatsoever.
